The North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (NRWWTP) has 20 basins arranged in five modules. Two of the modules are equipped with fine bubble aeration systems (Module E constructed new and Module C retrofitted from mechanical aeration in 2004). The remaining three modules (A, B, and D) are equipped with the original mechanical aerators.
METCO was responsible to provide services for the Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection System related improvements to the North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (NRWWTP). The project intent was to convert the existing mechanical aeration system into Fine Bubble Aeration System.
METCO was tasked to provide Design and Construction Engineering Services for the following major project elements:
- Removal of existing mechanical surface aerators in Four (4) Modules
- Replacement with full bottom, three zone fine bubble diffusers
- Electrical and HVAC design for the new electrical building to house Medium Voltage Switchgear, MV Soft starters, and 480V Load Centers.
